As we move into Week 4, the Gacha Machines will be rotating to Boketto until July 16th.

The Vancouver Ice Cream Festival is presented by BC Dairy, celebrating real dairy ice cream and the makers behind Metro Vancouver's best frozen treats.

☕ Busy Hong Kong-style cafe stall adds a second Crystal Mall spot - One Cafe is opening in Crystal Mall's food court in the old Kingspark Good Food unit, with a broader menu and renos wrapping July 10.

🍕 A New York slice shop returns to Kingsway after its plaza was demolished - Straight Outta Brooklyn has signage up at 918 Kingsway from the Via Tevere team, with buildout underway behind the windows.

🍖 A Halal food hall takes over Commercial Drive's old snack bar - Chef Hyve is moving into the shuttered Commercial Drive snack bar, its second Vancouver location after the Kingsway original.

🍰 A luxury Toronto bakery boutique lands at Oakridge Park - Delysees has opened at Oakridge Park with sculpted fruit mousses, macarons, and gold gift boxes, marking its Western Canada debut.

🫕 Richmond gets a mashup of hot pot, sizzling plates, and an AYCE buffet - Taoke pairs hot pots and sizzling steak plates with a Taiwanese all-you-can-eat buffet bar at Aberdeen Centre.

🍣 Longtime affordable sushi chain is quietly building its next downtown shop - Sushi California is renovating a Seymour Street unit downtown, and the chain behind seven Metro Vancouver shops looks nearly ready to open.

🍜 Popular Japanese ramen chain is opening a Coquitlam Centre food court stall - Kinton Ramen has signage up at Coquitlam Centre's food court, its second food court stall after Waterfront.

Spots that closed or are closing soon

🍕 Longtime East Van pizza and steak house shuts down after 57 years - Trocadero served its last pizza on May 24, closing the Nanaimo Street institution after the building sold; the space is becoming a daycare.

🍽️ Richmond's Versante Hotel closes its fine-dining restaurant after nearly 5 years - Bruno opened with the hotel in 2021 and has now permanently closed.

🍲 A longtime West End Korean restaurant closes after 11 years - Kosoo's original Cardero Street location has closed for good.

🐑 A popular Richmond hot pot chain is closing and relocating in July - Happy Lamb is leaving Lansdowne Centre on July 21 for an upcoming hot pot and grill spot on Alexandra Rd.
